The spices of the famous gingerbread are a Christmas standard.
Harmonious mixture of cinnamon, ginger, green anise, cardamom, nutmeg or even cloves, which is dosed according to taste to obtain a rather sweet, spicy or intense result. But what to do with it besides gingerbread? Well, many things! Here are 6 delicious and festive ideas to reproduce without hesitation.
A syrup for fruit salad.
We prepare an aromatic syrup in the style of Sébastien Gaudard by infusing gingerbread spices in hot water, sweetened or not. Served with orange or grapefruit salad. You can also prepare a very thick syrup, which is poured into steaming tea. A pleasure.
A crumb of fragrant bread
Don’t have time to prepare gingerbread and turn it into fragrant breadcrumbs? No problem, just toss the biscuits with spices and spread over fried foie gras, pumpkin or chestnut velouté.
Cream brûlée with foie gras
To make mini foie gras crème brûlées even more festive, sprinkle them with spicy brown sugar before caramelizing them. Simple and effective.
A chai tea latte
For a seasonal chai tea, toast the spices for a few moments, then add milk, water and black tea, before letting it heat and infuse for 5 minutes. Sweeten to taste.

A spicy crust for duck breast
For a change from capon or turkey, consider crusted duck breast, just as festive. For the best looking meat, remove the skin from the duck breasts, fry them for 3 minutes on each side and cover them with a crust of spiced breadcrumbs and softened butter before putting them in the oven. A delight!
Cookies that change
For a festive bite, we made spiced crackers that pair perfectly with the savory flavors. How do we do it? Easy, mix flour, yeast, salt and spices, with olive oil and water, before rolling out the dough, cutting shapes and putting it in the oven. It’s extremely simple and makes a difference, I promise!
