Variety reports The Toxic Avenger ” will arrive in theaters in 2025 – and just like Cineverse’s Art the Clown-starring hit, it will benefit from an “unrated wide release.” Dinklage plays the title character (a janitor who accidentally turns into a super-powered vigilante) in a cast that also includes Kevin Bacon, Elijah Wood, Jacob Tremblay, Taylour Page and Julia Davis.
In a statement to the industry, director Blair seemed understandably delighted to have found “the perfect distribution partner” to bring The Toxic Avenger to the masses. “It’s so cool that people will have the chance to see this in theaters, it’s a fun, rowdy movie that you want to see with a crowd. The mutant hero crushes the bad guys with a mop: perfect fun for the whole family! » he said. “Our goal has always been to preserve the heart and spirit of the original Toxie (which was burned into my brain from a young age) and try to create something that Troma fans would dig and at the same time enjoy. do something with the character that feels like a fresh character.”
