And just like that And Sex and the city star Kristin Davis is more than familiar with the real-life roller coaster of modern dating.
During the Monday, January 20 episode of his podcast, “Are you a Charlotte?» Davis, 59, revealed she once loaned an “unemployed” actor $5,000 before he hastily ghosted her.
Davis, who played Charlotte York in the hit HBO series Sex and the city Before Reprising the Role for the 2021 Reboot, Podcast Guest Said Sarah Wynter – which appeared in the SATC pilot – that the man’s response to her generous gesture shocked her.
She explained how the man was an ‘unemployed actor’ she had seen before she started SATCwhich is now “very successful”. Davis had loaned him “the entire $5,000” after spotting notices around his house that threatened to cut off his electricity. She had also learned that he had “destroyed his motorcycle”, which prevented him from attending the auditions.
“He was very talented, but at the time I had money because I was working,” Davis said. “It changed the dynamic in a horrible way… but I probably should have known that. So I lent him that money and then, you know, he stopped calling. So I’m like, “What is this?” »
Davis added that she confronted the man – which didn’t really help her situation.
“I remember going to his apartment and knocking on the door,” Davis said on the podcast. “And his dog was in there, and I loved his dog, and I could hear his dog. But I thought, “Is he in there and he’s acting like he’s not in there?” »
Although Davis was not greeted at the door, she later received a phone call from the man, who asked if she was the one knocking on his door.
“I was like, ‘Well, yeah,’” Davis said. “I felt so embarrassed, like I was a mess. I would just like recognition or something, which is kind of a fantasy.
Although she did not reveal the man’s identity, Davis gave some details about what he might be up to these days. “He lives in the country with kids, so I don’t think I want to show up there,” she joked.
Reflecting further on the ordeal, Davis called his decision a “horrible mistake” before urging his listeners to avoid repeating his actions. “Don’t do it,” Davis said. “This doesn’t end well.”
Davis’ Charlotte has experienced her own share of rocky dating scenarios over the course of six seasons of SATCbefore turning into two seasons of AJLT. (The third season of AJLT is set to be released later this year after its renewal in August 2023, and Charlotte remains married to Harry Goldenblatt, played by Evan Manager.)
In real life, Davis is single and the mother of two adopted children: her daughter, Gemma Rose, whom she adopted in 2011, and her son, Wilson, whom she adopted in 2018.
