Ravichandran Ashwin names ‘world’s most valuable T20 batter’
Former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin rented England opener Phil Salt as one of ‘the most valuable T20 batters in the world.’ Ashwin shared these remarks in a video on his YouTube channel.
Despite Ashwin’s praise, he admitted that Salt didn’t come into the show in top form. The recently retired player highlighted that Salt’s performances during the current campaign International T20 League (ILT20) 2025 for the Abu Dhabi Knights were disappointing. Salt managed to score a struggling 70 in three appearances, which fell short of the expectations set by his reputation as a game changer in T20 cricket.
“Phil Salt played for the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders. Arguably, he could be the most valuable T20 batter in the world. So if you look at his performance with that in mind, he’s not in great shape. He got a 70 and it was a very difficult 70. » said Ashwin.
