An Indiana man was arrested after police say he posted several TikToks that called for the assassination of President Donald Trump. The FBI arrested Douglas Thrams on January 23, 2025 after he allegedly posted several videos where he advocated for the violent overthrow of the United States. “Every US government building must be bombed immediately,” he said in a video, According to court records.
As Presented for the first time by Court WatchThrams is a 23-year-old resident of South Bend, Indiana, who did not make Trump’s return to the White House. The FBI said Thrams began posting a series of videos calling for Trump’s assassination after his Jan. 20 inauguration.
The FBI said that in one video, Thrams held a rifle in his hands and tapped it. “A friendly little reminder (Taps Rifle) that we have a Second Amendment right. We also have in our Declaration of Independence the right to take control of the government and even establish a new one. So I’m asking the question again – when, where, what time, give me coordinates,” he said, according to a transcript of the video in court records.
“As long as others show up, I’ll show up. I will make my second amendment. In fact, I will bring as many of my Second Amendment rights as possible. But I just need to know when we’re going to do this, where we’re going to do this, how we’re going to do this, uh, because it has to be done. This must be done. There is literally no way to follow without violence this time. I’m sorry.”
In the video where he talked about bombing government buildings, Thrams also discussed assassinating Trump. “In reference to President Donald Trump, Thrams said ‘he should be assassinated and this time, don’t miss out,’ according to the criminal complaint.
In video transcripts shared by the FBI, Thrams called out a leader; He did not consider himself part of the leader of a movement. “You tell me where to point the damn gun and we can go Nazi hunting,” he said, according to court records.
“Thrams said in the same video: “It is in our Declaration of Independence that if we see fit, we see it as right, that we are controlled by a tyrannical government, or just a bad one, that we are legally allowed to use our rights, laws, amendments and constitutes to take control of said government, perhaps even enforce a new one if necessary. So yes, I’m down for the cause. Like I said, I’m painting the town red, but I don’t run shit. Just tell me where to go. ‘”
The FBI charged Thrams with “interstate communications with threat of bodily harm,” a crime that carries a maximum sentence of five years.
